Dale Curtis Huber, 62, of Gayville, SD, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD.

     Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 3, 2009 at Vangen Lutheran Church in Mission Hill, SD, with Pastor Lance Lindgren officiating.  Burial will follow in the Vangen Cemetery with military graveside rites by Rudolph Christensen Post #237 of Gayville.

     Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, July 2, at the Hansen Funeral Home in Irene.

     Dale was born June 29, 1947 in Yankton, SD to Clayton & Mildred (Robinson) Huber.  He entered the United States Air Force on September 1, 1966 and received an honorable discharge on August 31, 1970.  He was also a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #12 and the VFW Post #791 in Yankton.  He operated equipment doing road and bridge construction and always had an unwavering passion for his job.  He always liked to point out the bridges he had helped build and usually had a good story to go with it.  When not working Dale loved to ride his Harley and spend time with family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by everyone for his huge heart and his love for life.

     He is survived by his mother Mildred Devine, of Irene, two brothers; Tom (Roxy) Huber of Denver, CO, Dennis (Karen) Huber and their children of Mission Hill, SD, son Timothy Huber of Sioux City, IA, two daughters; Lindsey (Dan) Schmit and Tiffany (Tom) Andreasen all of Omaha, NE, step-brothers and sisters; Tom Devine of Rapid City, SD, Jane & Jack Slowey of Yankton, SD, Laddie Devine of Ankeny, IA, Dan & Jeanne Devine of Yankton and many cousins and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Clayton Huber, step-father James Devine and step-brother Rodney Devine.

     The family expresses a special thank you to the Avera Yankton Care Center staff for the loving care and laughter they shared with Dale.
