The Walkers were a wonderful part of Vermillion when I was growing up in the 50s. In fact, I was the flower girl at their wedding and vividly remember how beautiful a couple they were. Tom will be greatly missed by the community.

So sorry to hear about Tommy. There have been so many memories that i have made with him while growing up in Vermillion, and he was the best bus driver anyone could ask for! I will never forget about Jo and TW; they make great neighbors! All of the walker relatives are in my thoughts and prayers. Go Jacks TW!\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n\\\\\\\"Thumbs Up\\\\\\\"\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nSara Kjose

Our hearts go out to you all during this difficult time. He was a one of a kind guy and I always looked forward to seeing him when stopping by Jone's for morning coffee, at the local sporting events and other various locations where you just knew that Tom would be! Whimps- spaggetti night.
I had the chance to run into Tom when he first moved to the Elk Point nursing home-I was in the room next door visiting a friend and heard a grumbling ol voice hounding the nurses. I popped my head around the door way cause I knew the voice and there he was chewing their butts for making him get up and walk! Go figure! Again, his memory will be with us forever...he was a special man!

Please accept our deepest condolences. Your dad was always a very practical, kind and generous person. He also had a sharp wit which was always a source of entertainment. I am going to tell you a story about him. Early one morning I was in the radio room at the PD and heard the Street crew call him on the radio. They were at a work site out on Crestview Circle. One of them called your dad on the radio and said, "Tom, we forgot our shovels. Will you bring them out with you when you come out?" and your dad said "Yeah. You can just lean on each other until I get there."
He left a lot of people with a lot of fine memories. Our thoughts will be with you.

Tom was a very special person who touched many people. I will miss seeing him at my Mom\\\\\\\'s house when I am back in Vermillion. He always wanted to know what was going on in Minnesota and would ask about everyone there. I was able to visit him in Sioux Falls before he moved to Elk Point. Even though he liked to act \\\\\\\"tough\\\\\\\" I always knew he was a big teddy bear with an even bigger heart. We will all miss him.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nJackie

Walker Family & Friends,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have so many wonderful memories of TW! I could always count on him to deliver me a Valentine chocolate to the bank! He was always so thoughtful. He never forgot a holiday and stopping by with a treat! I was always comforted knowing that he was the one taking care of my kids on their bus trips to their many sporting events. TW was a wonderful influence to me in my sobriety. I will cherish all of the conversations we had and his great words of wisdom! He will be deeply missed! He will remain in our hearts forever!
God Bless you all,
Lori Whitman
